Grid - removing one row from selection

Hello,
(Newbie here...)

Using a grid; selecting various rows by holding down Ctl & clicking - works
fine.
Want to unselect one row, with the others remaining selected. How?
I'm sure this is trivial, but I can't seem to find it .....
