In wxPython2.6-win32-ansi-2.6.2.1pre.20051227-py23, the GenericDirCtrl
disappears when its window is resized. This can be seen also in the
demo (*), when one try to resize its panel by either dragging the sash or
the window border.

I think Julian must have read your mind as he checked in a fix for this last night.
