freeeware license

I build a software that is written in Python and
wxPython and I would plan to release this software with freeware license.

Is it possible?
It might be good to put this information in '“About …” ?

Why not using a GPL license?
v2 is multi-purpose, v3 enforce your protection from $$ interests
that could (will?) be tempted to use your code without referring
to the original author and worse: keep it secret for selling;
it also force any derivation to also be GPL to avoid the last point.

It might be good to put this information in '"About ..." ?

Yep, also supply the license text in source and (niiice! make it
appear in the AboutBox (see the demo example).

Yes, the wxWindows license allows you to do nearly anything you want with your software and source code. However if you also distribute wxPython and/or wxWidgets source then it needs to retain the wxWindows license.

Giving attribution is not required, but it is certainly a nice thing to do.

P.S. I am not a lawyer and the above reflects my non-professional understanding of the license.

The international laws obliges to either supply a copy of the license
or a permanent URL to get it (well, it's not really an *obligation*,
but if you don't do it you can't oppose this license to others
practices as they're not aware of it); the 1st option is nicer to
user, though.

I would like to distribute my application with a setup.exe built with InnoSetup.

So I have no wxPython WxWindow
source.
