Nope.

There is no Content-Type header on the message, so my mailer (mutt)
guesses that it's `text/plain', which is wrong.

And for those few of us on digest mode, attachments are consistently mangled
to uselessness.

But digest mode mangles so much, one hardly notices.

Perhaps switching from plain-text to MIME digest mode would help?
