Ed ?which screencast software

Just looked at the (impressive!!!!!!!!!!!) dabo demo.

Out of interest, what's the screencaste software? Is there a opensource linux
easy to use equivalent?

It's all open source. On the screencast page is a link to pyvnc2swf, which records the images using a connection to a VNC server. I just run TightVNC on the Windows machine, or plain vanilla VNC on Mac/Linux.

The sound is recorded using a commercial Mac program called 'Sound Studio 3'. It's $80, but I bought it a few years ago and it works great. You can use any audio recorder that can save to MP3. I then take the MP3, and use pyvnc2swf's edit.py to combine them. It takes a couple of tries before I sync them up properly, but that's it.

Look for vnc2swf and/or its Python bindings as pyvnc2swf.

It works quite well.

Hi. A screencast software is one that records pictures of your screen. Cheers!
