Drawing text on a wx.lib.plot canvas.

Does anyone have an example of how to draw text on a wx plot canvas? Or any suggestions on how to go about it? I want to have draw on the plot area, not just axes labels or title.

Thanks. I was specifically looking for something that used wx.lib.plot PlotCanvas, though.
I have limited screen real estate and wanted to draw some numbers directly on
unused areas of my graph.
