As the notation requirements of my project are fairly basic, I would like to go down the road of having a go at programming it myself, even if it takes a while… : ) Also, I would like it if the program was self contained.
As I am new to Python/wxpython I just need to know where to start. I have presumed that as wxpython is so widespead that perhaps that is the easiest way to go. I have seen gnu Solfege, but that is built using gtk. It’s notation output is, I think very good, good enough for the sort of thing I want to do anyway. If wxpython leads nowhere then maybe I’ll have to look to gtk, but hopefully when Brian puts up his Neume program I will have something to consider.
