Current wx version with W95 on 486

Hi,

I have a project that I would like to run on a 486 laptop with W95 on it.
Will the current wxPython binaries run on a 486 with W95?

I know a verson or two ago still worked, but I wanted to check to see if
anyone had any experience with the latest version before going to the
trouble of getting the laptop and setting it up.

Thanks,

Gordon Williams

As long as it has updated common controls, OpenGL, etc. then it should probably work. You may have better luck if you can update the machine to Win98 though.

I don't know of anything in the last few releases that would cause problems, but then I havn't run win95 for years either so I could be missing something...

We had problems with 2.5.x in w98. But we were using PNGs, I think if
one sticks with GIF, BMP and JPEG there will be much less chance to have
problems. On the other hand, 2.4.2.4 handled everything very easy, so
if you can dismiss some of the new and very very interesting things, you
might also use an older version of wxPython...

I think that we also ran on a Win95, but it might have been upgraded
recently, so there are only W98 around here.
