Buildbot Failed to Compile the Docs

We’ve got a situation going on here, and it ain’t pretty. See here: http://buildbot.wxpython.org:8010/builders/build-docs/builds/382/steps/shell/logs/stdio/text

Robin, can you see what’s going on that causes this build to always fail now?

There are no new snapshot builds of Phoenix after July 4th. Sounds like a bummer.

Oh and… uhm… Robin, could you, uhm, update your Python interpreters, like all of them? Like you use Python 2.7.3 to build those snapshot builds. I really urge you to update to 2.7.5. Other interpreters also need version bumps. If you haven’t updated them already, then do.

I have to say, seeing Boštjan’s constant obsessing over trivial details, and his arrogant and bossy tone towards Robin of all people, is getting really hard to stomach. A guy like Robin who has spent countless hours doing volunteer work to make our lives easier and not asking for anything in return doesn’t deserve to be spoken down to by some random ML denizen as if he was his employee. “Bump this version, Robin, oh and while you’re at it, look into that problem, and bump this too.” I’d ban him from the list if I could. But I’ll do the next best thing - add Boštjan to my /dev/null filter. I don’t think I’ll be missing anything of actual value.

Perhaps you are not aware that July 4 is a holiday in America, and
because it landed on a Thursday this year, many people took Friday off
as well.

Robin, please review this commit and note that the fix to wxStandardPaths was made for all OS platforms (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux/Unix): Forbid creation of wxStandardPaths object directly. · wxWidgets/wxWidgets@38aae14 · GitHub

Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Honestly, who do you think you are? You
are not Robin's employer. You are not Robin's manager. Robin is a
volunteer, and YOU are a beneficiary of his generosity. You do not have
the right to make demands. Robin will get to this when he gets around
to it, as he does with all updates to the base classes. You are working
at the bleeding edge of a unreleased software package here. You must
expect instabilities, and god damn it, you must have patience.

If you want guaranteed support and an on-demand support staff, then you
need to leave the open source community and go buy some commercial
framework. Microsoft would be happy to envelop you in the WPF or WinRT
fold.

This guy has been a troll here for several years…why he’s still on this list, I’ll never know.

Because you guys are ripe for it. Trolls love getting reactions out of
people. Seriously, just search this entire mailing list for just messages
involving "Mejak" and read those threads one after the other. Maybe it's
less obvious when it's spaced out but it's pretty clear when you read 'em
one after the other.
