Have you tried frmouterr-py242-wxpy2621.zip available at
http://spinecho.ze.cx/.
In two words, a wxFrame which can be hooked to the top window
of a wx.App, it displays sys.stdout and sys.stderr message.
The message window will be shown at the first message.
There is even styling with colour in order to differentiate
stdout and stderr.
I wrote it long time ago. I just tested it with Python 2.5 and
wxPython 2.8.4.0. Seems to be still ok.
