Another wxpython libraries size increase question

Thanks Robin - I'm looking forward to 2.9.

I looked on the wxpython.org site for the 2.8.2 beta
and could not find it. Where is it located?
If it's based on python 2.3 then I wouldn't be able to
use it since I am using python 2.4. If there is a
wxpython preview based on python 2.4 then I could try
that.

Jeremy.

The original plan was to have gdiplus be loaded on
demand, so if you
don't use wx.GraphicsContext then it wouldn't be
required. Since
loading and using a DLL dynamically is relatively
more complex than just
linking to it normally, the work to do that was
postponed. It's still
possible however and it may get done in 2.9.

In the meantime, I've started doing builds for
Python 2.3 again and
since I could not work out the compilation problems
related to GDIPlus
and MSVC 6 I've turned off the building of
wx.GraphicsContext in that
build, so the GDIplus DLL should not be required
(although I think it is
still included...) See the recent preview build of
2.8.2 to try it out.
